Meet Denver Hudson

For over 30 years, I've been passionate about helping individuals unleash human greatness - and live their unique life purpose.

My journey began in my mid-teens, when a deep curiosity about life, spirituality, and human potential first cracked me open. That was when I sat up for the first time and actually listened with curiosity to what my spiritual teachers were saying. That was when I started reading about love, human potential, and the possibilities of the future. And in hindsight, that was when Life began to reveal my purpose...

At 24, two years out of college, I was frustrated. I'd done everything "right" - earned my degree, gone to interview after interview - yet nothing spoke to my heart. Nothing spoke to my hunger to understand the deeper dimensions and mysteries of life and to make them practical and real.

Then came a turning point. I discovered Zig Ziglar. Sitting in my car, listening to his See You At The Top audio, something in me lit up. Zig ignited my soul! Right then, I knew what I wanted to do with my life: inspire people to wake up to their greatness and share it with the world. Zig helped me to understand that a wilder game was calling - one that demanded that I bet on myself. So I walked away from the path that had been laid out for me, and I launched my own business.

To forge myself into that kind of a leader, I joined Toastmasters International and the National Speakers Association - standing in rooms full of strangers, voice trembling, palms sweating, until my words found their rhythm and power. Facing the fear of rejection. Meeting my limitations. Taking myself to my growth edge again and again. Slowly finding my voice.

In 1995, a mentor introduced me to the Carlson Learning Company and the world of professional training and development. For the next five years, I facilitated DiSC and Adventures in Attitudes workshops for small businesses, non-profits and community organizations. 

In 2000, I was challenged by a client to begin writing my own programs; that is when I discovered my creativity and joy in designing engaging and life-changing learning experiences. That is also the year I discovered the world of professional coaching. There it was! The approach that would allow me to work with individuals over time to create real transformation! More training. More time at the edge. And more unlocking of human potential!

As I combined training and coaching, I ultimately had a new revelation: greatness needs fuel. And having served so many professionals who were helping others, I was witness to the immense toll that serving and leading can have on one's health. In 2010, I added fitness and health coaching - because a dynamic life of leading and serving demands energy, resiliency, and a body that can keep up.

Then in 2020, another realization struck. The world had become far more complex - and the way we lead needed to evolve. It was clear to me that technology was evolving faster than humans. Polarization was increasing. People were becoming more divided. Leadership was becoming more challenging and challenged. Daily life, more stressful and uncertain. Those realizations brought my whole life, my work, and my purpose into a clearer focus - and ignited a deeper fire in my belly! BIG GAME Leadership was born - a movement to help purpose-driven individuals and leaders to live and lead in a complex world with greater clarity, vitality, and purpose.

Through every chapter, through all the ups and downs of my life, through all the work with so many wonderful people and organizations, here is what has guided me: love. The love of life. The love for humanity. The love for the One who makes it all possible. The love I see and feel when I look into the eyes of my clients.  

I believe we are each here to play a BIG GAME, to make a unique contribution, to be a gift that uplifts our families, strengthens our communities, and advances humanity as a whole. My life and my work are devoted to making that happen.
